With a background in glassworks, ceramics, and 3-D design, Eric Barrett founded Concrete Blond in 2002 in reaction to the prevailing conservatism in the use of concrete in interior and exterior spaces. Barrett aimed to focus on interior and exterior wall cladding, flooring and custom concrete castings. Concrete Blond highlighted their unique concrete wall treatment at this year's 100% Design tradeshow in London. Walled Paper transforms concrete, an undeniably cold and unyielding material, into a lavish landscape of patterns and textures. The permanent wall castings are formed with traditional wallpaper prints embossed onto the entire surface, with a variety of sizes, finishes and patterns to choose from. Walled Paper is currently being utilized in Barrett's various interior and architectural projects.
