BMW has unveiled its latest innovation through its ConnectedDrive system, thus making it the first ever automaker to provide the option of viewing and reading out iPhone calendar entries in the vehicle. This calendar integration will prove extremely handy for workaholics by showing upcoming appointments and even reading out the details so they can never miss anything from an important meeting to a play date with their kids.
With this, the automaker seems to be aggressively pursuing its interest in letting third party developers dole out apps for its cars. Also, there is the Qype integration and Wiki Local that further pour light on their app-related strategies. For now, their app-goodies are just for iPhone, but they are pretty positive about expanding support to other smartphones as well.
